Flight Log

Flight Log Description

Pocket Flight Log and Monthly Planner

The Pocket Flight Log and Monthly Planner was designed to be slim enough (6ΒΌ" x 4") to fit in pockets yet not so small that information had to be entered with an ultra fine tip pen.

The black vinyl cover has clear plastic pockets molded inside the front and back to make it easy to see and find important papers such as schedules, receipts, pictures, or even a passport.

Turning the page brings you to a page for tracking your flight records as well as expiration dates of important documents. Facing the this page, is a page to list important events so that you minimize the chances of forgetting birthdays, anniversaries, and such.

The monthly two-page calendar  has plenty of room to make notes and keep track of daily and monthly expenses.

Following each monthly calendar are four log pages presented in a column form. There is space for 59 entries per month plus a line to total the month's time.

After the December log pages, is an expense and flight time summary page for the tax man and/or your own personal use. Facing that page is a page of miscellaneous conversions for the metrically challenged.

Three pages for names, notes and numbers round out the useful features of the Pocket Flight Log and Monthly Planner.

Also included is a handy tear-out reorder form as well as a couple of order forms for you to give to your friends and flying partners when they see the Pocket Flight Log and want one too.

Flight Log Story

The story behind the Pocket Flight Log and Monthly Planner

After a couple of years of publishing the Airline Crew Organizer and Flight Record and seeing many pilots still pulling out one of the small red log books, it was apparent that size matters in log books. Too much size, in this case, meant lost potential sales. So, we decided to shrink the Organizer to fit the needs of those looking for a pocket sized log book and organizer. Unfortunately, there had to be some compromises made to make it work as a smaller version.

First, the monthly plastic sleeves had to go. They were too expensive to incorporate into a smaller log book and still keep the price in the neighborhood of competing products. Instead, we had the covers made with clear plastic pockets.

The monthly calendar pages had to be modified so as to allow room to write. The small daily meal expense boxes had to be eliminated but the monthly summary area was retained.

With smaller pages, there were not going to be as many lines for log book entries so the page which had been available for pasting the monthly schedule was used as an additional log page. The columns were designed specifically for logging flight information.

Discovering another need, a page was added to show Fahrenheit and Celsius temperature comparisons along with several metric conversions.

The Pocket Flight Log and Monthly Planner has done well. It is now in use by crew members of over three dozen airlines, crew members of the military, corporate pilots, and other assorted (no offense meant) pilots and aviation personnel.
